This red henna hair dye is an all-natural option for coloring your hair without having to use harsh chemicals. It is made from a plant called Lawsonia inermis, which is found in India, Africa, and the Middle East. Our red henna hair dye is available in a variety of shades and can give your hair a tone from a natural Reddish-Copper hue to a soft Strawberry/Champagne Hue. It is also a safe and non-toxic way to color your hair. Natural henna hair coloring for redheads is easy to use, and it can last for several weeks, depending on how often you shampoo your hair. It is also a great way to cover up gray hairs without the use of harsh chemicals.

"After coloring my hair for over 15 years using our JFR Henna, I cannot imagine coloring my hair with anything else! With age my hair has really faded, but JFR Henna has completely restored and revitalized the way my hair looks and feels! I get complements from total strangers, even while standing in the check out line at the grocery store about the color of my hair" -- JFR Founder, Paula Pennypacker

Also available in our 3-oz (85 grams) economy size.

HENNA INSTRUCTIONS AND QUESTIONS

HOW MUCH WILL I NEED?

Our 7-oz size (198 grams) will give you several applications depending on the length of your hair. For example: You only need 3 oz for shoulder length hair. Use more if hair is longer and less if hair is shorter.

HOW OFTEN DO I APPLY JFR HENNA?

An application will last up to 6 to 8 weeks, depending on how fast your hair grows. Unlike chemical process, you can apply JFR Henna as often as you like as it conditions the hair and is not damaging like chemical dyes.

WILL JFR HENNA LIGHTEN MY HAIR?

No! Only a stripping agent like bleach or peroxide will pull color from your hair. You cannot go from being auburn to strawberry blonde with our henna. Our Henna will only deposit red over your existing color.

DO A STRAND TEST FIRST

We always recommend that you always do a strand test first.  This is especially important if you are laying our henna over chemically treated hair as chemically treated hair will grab our Henna differently than virgin hair.

CAN I MIX HENNA SHADES?
We recommend using straight colors before mixing different shades so you can determine what color red each shade turns your hair. Then you can have fun experimenting.

MIXING INSTRUCTIONS

STEP 1: Pour henna into a non-metallic bowl. Then for extra conditioning you can add up to 1 TBS of olive oil. This step is optional.

STEP 2: Boil 2 cups of water. NOTE: Water that is not BOILING hot will result in a lumpy mixture.  When water is hot enough your mixture should be the consistency of honey.

STEP 3: Stirring with your Just for Redheads Applicator Brush gradually add your boiling water until your mixture becomes the consistency of honey. You do not want your mixture to be too watery or thick. To add more depth to any shade of our Henna you can also mix our Henna with BOILING dark roast coffee instead of boiling water.

TIMING YOUR HENNA PACK

We recommend you leave your first henna application on for 20 minutes to avoid over processing.  If you wish to go darker, leave the henna pack on longer your next application -- up to 1 hour.  NOTE: The longer you leave our Henna on - the more RED is deposited. Lighter hair grabs henna more than darker hair, that is why processing time is critical to avoid over processing.

Ingredients: 100% pulverized leaves from pure Lawsonia plants.

Henna-strawberry blonde

Product: Henna All Natural Hair Color - 100% Safe
Posted By: Kathy
I get compliments on my hair color from everyone who knows me. I’m 65- my childhood copper hair color had faded to a dun color and the strawberry blonde henna restored my natural color! Other hair colors give me a fake pinkish or burgundy or orange tinge. This is wonderful, easy to apply, smells like green tea (no nasty chemical odor), and best of all, restores shine, softness and body. It fades slowly with each shampoo. I usually reapply every 5-6 weeks. Try it-you have nothing to lose and everything to gain

"I came into this world a redhead and vow to go out as one! I have been professionally colored but am now a vowed Just for Redheads home henna user. I have had more compliments on my hair with Just for Redheads Henna than with any hair product I've tried. It looks natural and makes your hair feel SO soft. It lasts for a long time and is easy to use. Best of all, it doesn't break the bank. If you want a color that puts the red in redhead, then try Just for Redheads Henna. I seriously doubt that you will ever return to your normal color treatment."

"I used copper and it brought my hair back to its original color. I watched the online video, and it couldn’t have been easier!"

It took time and effort, but I have a achieved a natural looking color and my hair feels healthier than ever. My first try was copper, which came out way too orange. I subsequently tried various combinations of proportion and timing using copper, red, then added auburn, and finally some brown. I kept diligent notes. It was worth the effort. I will never go back to salon chemical dye. I am 67 years old and will never stop being a redhead. Experiment until you get your desired results!

    Henna Natural Color

I was skeptical, but this is the best product I’ve ever used on my hair. The color is a perfect match to my youthful red. As I’ve grown older my hair color has lost its luster. This product rejuvenated my color and made me feel young again! I will purchase this again and again!

    Champagne Henna

Posted by Ann on Aug 13, 2020

I've used JFR's champagne & strawberry bl. exclusively for decades & the product is always consistent. I get remarks from people who say how much they "love" the color of my hair because it looks so natural.

    Love the color!

I had copper hair as a kid and in my 30's my color has faded. This gives me a revivement in my color. I use the copper henna. I think about the idea of doing one shades darker maybe in the winter but don't know if I'm brave enough. We'll see. For now I'm happy with the copper. I don't care for the earthy grass smell but after a few washes that fades. I also like to use fractionated coconut oil instead of the olive oil.

Henna - Strawberry Blonde and Copper

Posted by Erica on Mar 30, 2020

I enjoy the color selection. Color lasts about 6 weeks - the vibrancy fades at that time. It's easy to apply and a great way to achieve a natural shade. I am glad I have this option.

    Love it!

Posted by Carrie on Mar 03, 2020

I use the Copper color and am so happy with it. I've always been a dark strawberry blonde but with age my hair kept getting lighter and lighter. The copper is a nice, rich, natural looking dark strawberry blonde, and it's perfect, I've gotten so many complements on my hair, I can't even count. I use a smaller amount to do touchups about once a month because the roots start to show :( But it's so easy, and my hair always looks so much better after I do it. I leave it on for almost an hour and that's perfect. So easy!! And so much better than always going to a salon, it's totally doable at home.

    Henna Hair Color

Posted by mary roberts on Aug 14, 2019

Love henna. It's a bit messy to mix,, but worth it. I used it before. But then used Lush's Henna bars. The product is easy to use. But, it doesn't come in enough colors. I used the Rouge twice. The second time, my hair turned BRIGHT red. I like the JFR because there are many more color options.

    Henna copper

Posted by Carolyn on May 09, 2019

Was a strawberry blonde for 50 years but my blonde highlights were turning sandy and overall was getting dull. Then came some white hairs! It was time. I made it this long without ever coloring etc. and had no knowledge of how. So I spoke with Paula and she suggested I try 30 min with copper henna to see how it goes. I love it! Hair is very shiny, not a flat color at all. And it conditioned it beautifully. Red hair can sometimes feel like horsehair but now it’s soft, shiny and has lots of dimension. Thank you!

    "Orange Panic"

Posted by Kim Stoddard on Apr 22, 2019

A fellow redhead recommended this product to me because I have been lamenting the fact that my once true strawberry blonde hair was transitioning into basic blonde and I'm not emotionally ready for that, yet! :-) I bought the Strawberry Blonde Henna, watched the video and did a test strip. It looked OK so I took the plunge and did my whole head. I left it on for 18-minutes, just as I did for the test strip. After I washed it out and dried it, I definitely experienced ORANGE PANIC! (That's a real Henna thing!) Contrary to what others told me, all I could see was saffron colored hair that didn't look like it belonged on my head. I spent an absurd amount of time watching videos on wrapping headscarves... However, I am EXTREMELY happy to report that 4-days later, the orange has given way to a very natural strawberry-blonde. YAY! I can still see blonde highlights, which I really like because it gives a much more natural look. I'm so happy to be a redhead again! (and it didn't cost me a small fortune!)

    I have blonde highlights!

Posted by Heather on Apr 17, 2019

Let me start by saying that I haven't colored my hair in decades. I've been loving my white hair as it's come in the last ten years or so. Lately I felt my hair was fading a bit faster than I was comfortable with. I saw this product and thought it might be what I was looking for. After a consult, JFR suggested I use a lighter shade before jumping into their "Red" henna. I decided to just go for it though. I had a more copper color hair that was pretty white on top. I was worried this would be too intense and turn out flat, completely covering my white hair and natural highlights. It didn't! I used the coffee instead of water as suggested for added dimension and I left the pack on for a total of 30-35 minutes from the time I began the application. When I was finished I had pretty blonde highlights like I used to pay for (stripping my hair every couple months) in my twenties. My hair feels softer and bouncier than it has in a long time. Not course, dry or frizzy. Long story short ... I don't regret finally coloring my hair and I look forward to my touch ups!
